Reflective writing class
The teacher taught us about reflective writing which involved writing down any insights, feelings and thoughts we had while reflecting. Then, in order to practice this, I had to write about COVID and how it affected my academic and personal life. At the beginning, it was difficult trying to remember things that happened as it now seems like something that happened ages ago but the more I thought about it, the more anecdotes I remembered. It was kind of a fun assignment to do as I was having a rollercoaster of emotions while writing it. It is quite impressive the amount of things we are able to forget so easily, even if it happened only a few years ago!
I learnt that writing down things helps you getting things out of your chest. The COVID essay was just a story, but you could use this type of writing to get rid of unpleasant feelings like frustration and anger. Writing down your thoughts and emotions make you self-aware of what is going on inside your body which helps you fight numbness and pain.
